Born in Flushing, New York. She attended Nassau Community College, receiving her AA Cum Laud, a member of Phi Theta Kappa Junior College Honor Society. She graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in English/Concentration in Publishing. She was hired by Bantam Books in March, 1985 and worked in the production department for a year as the typesetter liaison; she also did some book design. In the summer of 1986, she moved into the editorial department as an editorial assistant to Lou Aronica, Shawna McCarthy and Amy Stout at Spectra, Bantam's science fiction imprint. Her first acquisition was Angus Well's BOOKS OF THE KINGDOMS trilogy. She was soon promoted to assistant editor, then editor. Among the authors she acquired were Bill Barton & Michael Capobianco, Tricia Sullivan, Michael A. Stackpole, Mike Resnick, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Yvonne Navarro, and Raymond E. Fowler. She also worked with Raymond E. Feist, David Gerrold, Katharine Kerr, Paula Volsky, Bill Fawcett, Diane Duane & Peter Morwood, Vonda McIntyre, Kathy Tyers, and many others. She was a co-editor of FULL SPECTRUM 5, and contributed editorially to FULL SPECTRUM 4, although she is not credited. She also edited THE DEATH AND LIFE OF SUPERMAN, BATMAN: KNIGHTFALL, and rejuvenated Bantam's line of STAR TREK novels. In 1994, she left Bantam, recruited to head up the Book Publishing Department at Wizards of the Coast in Renton, Washington. After 14 months with Wizards, she spent a year as a freelance writer and editor, and nearly five years as a writer and producer for Microsoft and Expedia.com. She is currently the Senior Editor at WizKids LLC, working with such properties as Mage Knight, BattleTech, and Shadowrun. She writes an occasional book review column for TaleBones magazine called Black Ink. She has published three short stories and continues to write poetry and fiction.
