- Notes:
- Introduction by Walter Scott; afterword ("Postfacier") by Pierre-François Guyot Desfontaines. Desfontaines died in 1745, so it's unclear in what context he wrote this afterword. The WorldCat record here says "Includes an appendix with a passage from Desfontaines' translation of Gulliver's travels.", so Desfontaines might have been the earlier translator, from which this is a "new translation". The HathiTrust record, {{OCLC|589712697}}, says he is the translator of this edition. Since there is 93 years between his death and the first printing of this edition, that seems unlikely.
- New translation ("traduction nouvelle"), but translator apparently uncredited.
- Published as 2 volumes in one.
- Most sources say "Illustrated by J.J. Grandville", some say woodcuts by various others "after Grandville". See the WorldCat records for this printing and the 1838 printing for details. 8 leaves of plates.
- Data from WorldCat.
