- Title: The Works of Dr. Jonathan Swift, Dean of St. Patrick's, Dublin
- Author: Jonathan Swift
- Year: 1765
- Publisher: C. Bathurst
- Binding: Hardcover
- Type: Omnibus
- Title Reference: The Works of Dr. Jonathan Swift, Dean of St. Patrick's, Dublin
- Notes:
- Long Title: "The Works of Dr. Jonathan Swift, Dean of St. Patrick's, Dublin: Accurately Revised in Twelve Volumes: Adorned with Copper-plates: With Some Account of the Author's Life, and Notes Historical and Explanatory by John Hawkesworth."
- Volume 2, "Gulliver's Travels", was itself published in two volumes, which are referred to in some editions as "Volume 2, parts 1 and 2" and in other editions as "Volumes 2 and 3", hence the numbering of volumes in an edition will be referred to differently in various WorldCat records and other sources. Our numbering below acts as if these books were volumes 2 and 3, which matches the original title "in Twelve Volumes".
- The only volumes of genre interest are volumes 1-3, indexed in the contents here, with "Page numbers" representing the volume numbers.
- Originally published in 12 volumes in 1765 by Bathurst. A further six volumes (V. 13-18) were published the same year, by a different publisher, and were intended to accompany these twelve volumes. These 18 volumes have the title shown here. Volumes 19-21 were published in 1767 and 22-24 in 1768, followed by three volumes of a Supplement, volumes 25-27, in 1779. Volumes 19-24 are all titled "Letters written by Jonathan Swift D.D. Dean of St. Patrick's Dublin", while volumes 25-27 are titled "Supplement to Dr. Swift's Works". For a list of initial publishers of these volumes, see WorldCat record {{OCLC|63603785}}. For an overview of the contents of these volumes, see WorldCat records {{OCLC|63603261}} and {{OCLC|785264841}}. For full contents of the original 12 volumes, see WorldCat record {{OCLC|459163304}}.
- Volume 1 is titled "A Tale of a Tub. A Full and True Account of the Battel Fought Last Friday, Between the Antient and the Modern Books in St. James's Library. A Discourse Concerning the Mechanical Operation of the Spirit." The "Battel of the Books" is of genre interest. Volume 2 contains the first two parts of Gulliver's Travels (Liliput and Giantland), while volume 3 contains parts 3-4 ("A voyage to Laputa, Balnibarbi, Luggnagg, Glubbdubdrib, and Japan" and "A voyage to the country of Houyhnhnms").
- Most of volumes 1-18 have the same title page, with adjustments to the title in the center of the title page, but the first 3 volumes have "customized" title pages (volumes 2 & 3 sharing one).
