Biographic Data: William R. Eakin (Bill) has sold some 40 science fiction and fantasy stories over the past two years to places like Non-Stop SF, Realms of Fantasy, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction and Space and Time. His numerous "Redgunk" stories - speculative satires set in mythical town of Redgunk, Mississippi - have received special attention. One Redgunk story won the 1995 Andre Norton SF/Fantasy Award; another received the First Place prize in the 1996 North Texas Professional Writer's Association's Fiction Contest; yet another received 1st place in the 1996 Best of Soft SF Contest. In addition to writing fiction, Bill has served as editor for a series of books on ecology and world religions (Orbis press). Besides writing, he teaches part-time at a college and works as something of a househusband for his wife, 9-year-old son and 6-year-old twins on a large property they call the "Thicket" (after the safeplace in "Bambi").
