S. Fowler Wright

An accountant from 1895, Wright started devoting time to his literary work following his retirement. He was founder of the Empire Poetry League and was editor of Poetry from 1920 to 1932. He wrote numerous mystery and detective novels, some under the pseudonym "Syndey Fowler". He completed Sir Walter Scott's The Seige of Malta.
