Attended Syracuse University, where he later worked as an instructor in their writer's workshop. In the 50's he did public relations work for the United Jewish Appeal and the Weizmann Institute of Science. He worked for the Village Voice during its first year of publication, and published his own newspaper for a short while. In 1958 he began working for ABC television, and by the mid 60's was manager of public relations for Worldvision, an ABC satellite network. He scripted a number of PBS documentaries and many of his stories have been used for television.
