Bleiler has traced Kateley back to Cleveland Ohio, and located the obituary notice for Kateley's wife (Pearl W. Kateley), who died in 1953. He found no trace of Kateley after that date. Theories that Kateley was a pseudonym of Harold June are false, according to Blieler. See Blieler's Science Fiction: The Gernsback Years. All that is known of Kateley was that he was an engineer who worked for the U.S. Patent Office.
