Notes:

Artist who studied at the Columbia University School of Architecture and worked primarily as an architectural draftsman from 1910 to 1938. Worked on the Illustrated London News from the end of World War I to 1927, when he returned to New York. In the USA he participated in the designs for structures like the Chrysler Building and the Golden Gate Bridge. He began producing astronomical artwork for Life in the 1940s, published his first SF cover in 1947 (Astounding), and thereafter appeared on numerous covers of Fantasy & Science Fiction throughout the 1950s.
