- The title page has a silhouette of a zombie "vs." a silhouette of a unicorn rather than spelling out "Zombies vs. Unicorns". Some catalogs list the title as "[Zombies] vs. [Unicorns]".
- The printing date is not stated. The source for the 2010-09-21 date is amazon.com
- Priced for sale in Canada at C$19.99.
- The cover artist and interior art is credited on the back jacket flap. "Jacket illustration and hand-lettering copyright © 2010 by Josh Cochran." The hand-lettering is of the author names for each story and is classified as "interior art." The hand-lettered author names also appear on the back of the jacket as color illustrations.
- Each story is preceded by a one or two page introduction / debate by the editors. For the stories about unicorns Holly Black writes the introduction, Justine Larbalestier writes a tough-in-cheek "rebuttal", and Holly then gets the last word. The opposite format is used for the stories about zombies with Justine Larbalestier taking the lead, Holly Black writing the rebuttal, and Justine gets the last word.
- The dust jacket is unusual in that it's shorter than the publication. The publication is 9.25 inches (23.5 cm) high while the dust jacket is 7.75 inches (19.7 cm) high.
- The cover artwork is printed directly on the cover though the jacket also has a small part of the artwork that simulates as though the jacket has cutouts in the shapes of a zombie and unicorn so that part of the cover artwork could be seen.
- The cover without its jacket is artwork only and does not have a title, editor names, nor the publisher name printed on it.
- The cover artwork is reproduced as a black and white drawing on the inside of the front and back cover plus end papers. The same black and white cover artwork is used as the background for the title pages.
- Extra images:
- Dust jacket showing hand drawn author names on the back.
- Publication with the jacket removed.
- Title page that shows the use of silhouettes instead of the words "Zombies" and "Unicorns."
- An Amazon Look Inside is available for this publication.
