    • The frontispiece, credited on the title page and the copyright page, is on the page facing the title page.
    • In addition to the frontispiece there are two full-color illustrations printed on unnumbered glossy plates appearing before the second and third parts of the novel.
    • There are also spot illustrations at the heading of each of the 28 chapters and are assumed to be the work of Morrissey who is credited on the title page as "Artwork by Pat Morrissey".
