- Stated "Second Edition". Sometimes viewed as the 4th edition because of the three printings of the first edition. See Swift's "Bibliographic Comments" for further details. The title page to volume 1 says "The Second Edition", but the title page to volume 2 says "The Second Edition, Corrected". (Other sources say the title page to volume 2 is also "The Second Edition".)
- Longer title includes "To which are prefix'd, several copies of verses explaplanatory [sic] and commendatory ; never before printed." The verses are those of Alexander Pope.
- Contains a letter from "Captain Gulliver to his cousin Sympson" dated April 2, 1927, "if there should ever be a second edition". This is the first edition with the verses from Alexander Pope. Wikipedia says "Swift's friend Alexander Pope wrote a set of five Verses on Gulliver's Travels, which Swift liked so much that he added them to the second edition of the book, though they are rarely included."
- Octavo, 7 1/2 x 4 5/8 inches. (The other 1927 edition is duodecimo.)
