- "Son of Daddy!" by Jack L. Chalker in Fantasy Newsletter No. 62, September 1983 states that 2000 copies were printed, of which 1000 were clothbound, 300 were later paperbound and the remaining 700 shares sold for Pick-a-Book. Chalker also states that only 1500 of the original jackets were printed, so 500 copies of a new one were created with "Gnome Press" on the spine, all ads gone, and the illustration in black rather than the original green.
- FPCI boards are covered in light blue-green cloth with gilt on spine. Per ABE booksellers, Gnome Press boards are covered in black paper with green on spine.
- In addition to the jacket states noted by Chalker, there is a variant in black and red with "FPCI" on the spine and blank on back. The first verification copy of this variant is clipped at top corner, and has been trimmed at top to fit edition bound in wrappers. The second verified copy is bound in reddish brown boards with silver printing and FPCI on the spine, with the original jacket in green with ads on the back.
