-- copyright page states protection under the Berne Treaty, and US (c)1902 by Stoker
-- Contents, p.ix-x, lists Chapters I to LIII only

William Heinemann catalogue follows, perhaps 32 pages of 6-shilling books and one page "The Dollar Library of American Fiction", published monthly, 42 shillings for 12-month subscription.
Pages 3-454 appear identical to those in the US ed. except that p3 lacks heading "The Mystery of the Sea" and p454 lacks footer "The End". Pages 457-98 appear identical. - British Library (BL, below) and OCLC 607068127 report "viii, 454 pages", as {{LCCN|02-8118}} reports for the US ed. That fits the US ed. without the Appendix. In both editions the novel ends on page 454 and the Appendix pages from 457 are numbered.
- Price from Tuck, who gives page count 510 --evidently as x+[2]+498 where "[2]" is the unnumbered leaf that exhibits one encoded message each page.
