    • Two volumes. Binding is brown leather gilt, in slipcase.
    • Facsimile edition of William Caxton's 1480 manuscript translation of Ovid's Metamorphoses. Includes four half-page miniatures by an unknown artist.
    • The original manuscript had been separated into two parts, with the first half not being discovered until 1966. "To help finance the reunion of the manuscript, fine arts publisher George Braziller proposed the publication of this facsimile edition. Caxton [was] the first to introduce the printing press into England, and he translated into English a number of the books that he published. No printed copy of Ovid's Metamorphoses has survived, however. The bindings reproduce the binding on the Pepys manuscript." (Franklin Books). This edition is that book.
