Grosset & Dunlap published all the Nancy Drew mysteries for 50 years, 1930 to 1979 (#1-56), but the Stratemeyers moved to Simon & Schuster that year, partly to achieve paperback distribution, and successfully defended the move in court. For the Stratemeyer centennial in 2005, Grosset & Dunlap arranged to re-issue the first eight Simon & Schusters (#57-64) in hardcover editions reminiscent of the 1930s to 1970s Grosset & Dunlaps.
