    • This publication is both an omnibus and a collection as it contains two previous collections, Sunfall (1981) and Visible Light (1986), plus 15 extra stories. To allow for cross referencing all of the individual story titles this publication are classified as a collection in ISFDB. For more details please take a look at the bibliographic notes.
    • A year, such as "1976" appears at the very top of the title page for each story. With one exception, this appears to be the copyright date.
      • Page 199 - The title page for Cassandra states "1976" but the copyright Acknowledgments page has "'Cassandra' ©1978, Mercury Press, first appeared in the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. Reprinted by permission of Gordon Van Gelder." This has been verified as appearing in the October 1978 issue of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.
      • Page 209 - The title page for The Threads of Time states "1981" and the copyright Acknowledgments page has "'Threads of Time' © 1981 by C. J. Cherryh, first appeared in the Darkover Grand Council Program Book IV ©1978, Andrew Siegel." It's possible C. J. Cherryh did not file for a copyright on this story until 1981. As of 5-Dec-2009 Darkover Grand Council Program Book IV has not been added to ISFDB.
      • Page 580 - The title page for Wings states "1989" and the copyright Acknowledgments page supports this with "'Wings' ©1989 by C.J. Cherryh, first appeared in Carmen Miranda's Ghost is Haunting Space Station Three, edited by, Don Sakers, Baen Books." The exception in this case is that first publication was in 1990.
    • The story The Threads of Time is credited as Threads of Time in the Table of Contents and as The Threads of Time on the story's title page.
