1933 publication of cover and interior illustrations (reported by Tuck?) must be doubted, although Cowles was a London magazine illustrator during the 1920s and 30s. Macdonald Illustrated Classics date from 1947, and the M.I. Edition of Haggard from 1948. Both VisualHaggard.org gives 1960 date for the Macdonald and Cowles edition of this novel.
