There is a record in the db for the sixth printing with a later ISBN and a higher price. This may then be the fifth printing. According to the Philip Jose Farmer International Bibliography this is the sixth printing, and the records which are stated sixth and seventh are actually the seventh and eighth.
- The back cover cites other Farmer titles, including The Dark Design as "just published". The first edition of that novel was published in October 1977, which means the date in this book is correct.
- Cover art is uncredited, but appears to be the work of Vincent DiFate. The Philip Jose Farmer International Bibliography confirms this.
