  • Edited by René Radrizzani, presented as the "complete (intégrale) edition". The novel was never published in its entirety before Radrizzani's 1989 edition, although various incomplete pieces of it were. This edition was assembled from partial manuscripts; approximately one-ninth of it could not be found and had to be re-translated into French from a Polish translation. The third edition, published in 1992, includes revisions on the basis of additional manuscripts discovered between 1989 and 1992. There are extensive critical notes with variants, including an entire alternate version of the Quarante-septième Journée. The end material contains reproductions of certain manuscript pages and related documents, several portraits of the author, and a chronology of his life and the publication history of the Manuscrit.
