- The title page makes it clear via a font change that Great Science Fiction is the main title and that Stories by the World's Great Scientists is a sub-title. This is less apparent on the front cover and on the spine it's Great Science Fiction Stories by the World's Great Scientists all in one font.
- The front cover credits "Martin Greenberg and Charles Waugh" while the title page includes their middle initials "Martin H. Greenberg and Charles G. Waugh".
- The printing date is not stated. The copyright is 1985 but Amazon reports this as May 1, 1986. It is quite likely Amazon's date is accurate as the hardcover printing was in July 1985 and so that date was used for this ISFDB record.
- 1st printing as per number line.
- The title page has a small illustration but it's not credited nor is a signature visible.
- There is no cover painting/illustration and so a cover artist is not credited.
- Each story is prefaced by an introduction. Many of these seem to be author bios written by the authors themselves rather than by the anthology editors.
- The introduction for Fred Hoyle's Blackmail credits him as Sir Fred Hoyle though Fred Hoyle is used in both the table of contents and at the head of the story.
- The author for Jeannette's Hands is credited as Philip Latham in the Toc, "Philip Latham (Robert S. Richardson)" at the head of the story, R. S. Richardson at the head of the story introduction, and as R(obert) S(hirley) Richardson at the beginning of the introduction.
- The author for Industrial Accident is credited as Lee Correy in the Toc, "Lee Correy (G. Harry Stine)" at the head of the story, G. Harry Stine at the head of the story introduction, and as G(eorge) Harry Stine at the beginning of the introduction.
- The author for Choice is credited as J. R. Pierce in the Toc, head of story, plus the head of the introduction, and as J(ohn) R(obinson) Pierce at the beginning of the introduction.
- The author for On the Fourth Planet is credited as J. F. Bone in the Toc, head of story, plus the head of the introduction, and as J(esse) F. Bone at the beginning of the introduction.
- The author for Transfusion is credited as Chad Oliver in the Toc, head of story, plus the head of the introduction, and as Chad(wick) Oliver at the beginning of the introduction.
