Gollancz produced two slightly different covers for this Masterworks II edition, changing sometime between this 4th printing and the 16th (for example). They differ in two lettering aspects; on the spine and on the front cover: Here, on the spine, the "Daniel Keyes" text is 51 mm long (60 mm in the 16th and later printings 28th and 29th), and "Flowers For Algernon" is 60 mm long (66 mm on later printings). Here, on the front cover, the beginning of the letter 'W' at the start of the text line "Winner of the Hugo Award and" is under the 'S' in "Flowers". In later printings the line has been shrunk, measuring 53.5 mm, so that the start of the letter 'W' falls between the first two words of the title. The text "The Nebula Award" has also been shrunk proportionally.
