It was bound in a cream colored cloth similar to the author's "Stringtown on the Pike" binding and stated Author's Edition on the front cover. Price from Publisher's Weekly March 16, 1901, a Dodd, Mead ad. The 11th edition was reprinted many times and was bound in several different bindings. Some printings show a later title page date and some have no title page date.
