      • Headbands have nine or ten black and white sections.
    • The editor's introduction includes a chronology by H. P. Lovecraft. Some Lovecraft collections include this chronology as a standalone essay. Also, while the chronology goes from page vii to viii it's listed here as starting on page viii so that the Introduction record gets sorted first and that the bulk of the chronology is on page viii.
    • After the story The Evil Clergyman the Table of Contents lists Early Tales without a page number and underneath that, and indented, are the stories The Beast in the Cave through The Transition of Juan Romero. The Table of Contents then reverts to the standard indent and has Fragments without a page number. Underneath Fragments, and indented, are the stories Azathoth through The Thing in the Moonlight which are indented.

Both the Early Tales and Fragments sections of the publication have introduction essays with the first being titled Early Tales and using about one half of the page and the latter being titled Four Fragments and is a two sentence paragraph. The page headers for both sections are Early Tales and Fragments respectively rather than using the titles of the stories or vignettes on those pages.
