- Notes: A selection of 31 essays originally printed in F&SF (and almost entirely reprinted from earlier collections of those essays.) In the introduction, Asimov states, "After thirty years... I have chosen one essay from every successive twelve and put together this volume as a celebration of longevity." In the afterword to the last essay, he says he included it "on the principle of 'the baker's dozen'--add another one to be sure of giving full measure." However, he'd already added another one in that the introduction reprints the (otherwise un-reprinted) first 1,200-word essay in the series called "The Dust of Ages" (November 1958), so this actually contains 32 F&SF essays. Each essay is immediately followed by a half-page to one-page afterword. The extended copyright page erroneously repeats the first publication of the "The Egg and Wee" for "You, Too, Can Speak Gaelic." Canadian Price on spine $5.99
