Synopsis:

Cadmann Warner and Rachel Harker are two former lovers drawn together again in contemporary San Francisco when they are sucked into the machinations of a secret government agency. That agency is devoted to tracking and eventually destroying an enigmatic character named Matthew Kabal. Warner and Harker eventually come to know the reason the agency has targeted Kabal is they have a great deal of evidence supporting the hypothesis that Kabal is a vampire, and of course such a powerful supernatural creature would be a threat to national security. As the agency prepares their main assault on Kabal, however, it becomes apparent to Cadmann and Rachel that Kabal is far more than even the creature they believe he is, and they are all in far greater danger than anyone suspects.
