Columnist for Tangent, with work most notably appearing in SF Eye and Cyber-Psychos AOD. Riddell's "take no prisoners" approach to writing made him extremely unpopular in some circles. His attitude: "Keep the bodies as a cheap alternative to turkey at Thanksgiving." He announced his official retirement from the genre October 15, 1997. He returned to the genre on the request of Scott Edelman, editor of SF Age, and has since done columns for both SF Age and Sci-Fi Universe.
