Notes: Anthem series A-1009 Stated "Second Printing, November 1971". 5000 copies, approximately, printed per the colophon which goes on to state that earlier editions were numbered. However, Chalker/Owings states that 1202 copies were bound in cloth, with 743 as a trade paperback. They further state that the first printing can be identified by an illustration on page 145 instead of the entry for the letter J, which is what the verified copy has. They go on to say that the reprints can not be distinguished without the jacket. The first reprint that C/O mention is from 1973 which would disagree with the printing statement in the book. Price is from Chalker/Owings and does not appear on the jacket.
