Notes:
Verrill was an archaeologist, explorer, author, and recognized authority on South America, especially the prehistoric civilizations of Peru and Bolivia. He went on numerous expeditions, adding specimens to museums across America and Europe. He wrote over 100 books, including juveniles such as the Boy Adventurers and Radio Detectives series. A biographical sketch was published in the May 1939 issue of Fantastic Adventures.
